What's in an ECR Racing big brake kit?
Most kits include multi-piston calipers, 2-piece floating discs, mounting brackets and hardware, fast road pads and braided brake lines. Each listing shows exactly what's in the box.
Why fit a big brake kit?
A bigger disc gives the caliper more leverage, and more pistons with larger pads spread the clamping force over a bigger area. The result is stronger, more consistent braking and much better resistance to fade on track days, towing or hard road driving. Floating discs stay true when they get hot.
4, 6 or 10 pistons?
More pistons mean a longer pad and a more even clamp across it. A 4-piston kit is a big step up from most standard brakes. 6-piston kits suit hot hatches, vans and fast road cars. 10-piston kits are for the heaviest, fastest cars, like the Audi RS6 and RS7.
Will it fit behind my wheels?
Bigger discs and calipers need enough space inside the wheel, which often means a larger wheel than standard. Send us your wheel size and we'll confirm clearance before you order.
Fitting and bedding in
We recommend professional fitting. The brakes must be bled with fresh fluid. Bed new discs and pads in before hard use with a series of moderate stops from around 60 mph down to 10 mph, then let them cool.
Replacement parts
Replacement discs and pads for our kits are available separately, so you can keep your kit running for years.
