2-Piece Floating Brake Discs

Two-piece floating rotors that manage thermal expansion under repeated hard braking, keeping the disc true when lesser rotors warp. Sized to your vehicle's original disc dimensions — a direct swap for your existing calipers and brackets, no big brake kit required.

Why 2-piece floating brake discs?

A standard brake disc is one piece of cast iron. Under repeated hard stops the friction ring gets far hotter than the centre, and that uneven expansion is what pulls a one-piece disc out of true. That's the vibration through the pedal and steering wheel that people call warped discs.

A 2-piece floating disc separates the two parts. The iron friction ring is mounted to a lightweight aluminium bell on floating bobbins, so the ring can expand as it heats up without distorting. The disc stays flat and consistent stop after stop, and less heat soaks into the hub, wheel bearing and caliper.

Lighter and more consistent

The aluminium bell takes weight off every corner. That's unsprung, rotating weight, so the steering, suspension and acceleration all benefit. ECR Racing rings are high-carbon cast iron with a drilled or wavy pattern and a protective coating.

Floating discs or a big brake kit?

ECR Racing floating discs are made to your car's original disc size. They fit the standard calipers and carriers, so there are no adaptors and no change of wheel size. They're the right choice when your brakes are the right size but you want them to cope better with track days or hard road driving. If you need more stopping power from bigger discs, more pistons and more pad area, a big brake kit is the next step up.

Which pads should I use?

Use a quality performance pad that suits how you drive. Some of our sets come with Brembo pads, and we're happy to recommend pads for any set. Just ask.

Bedding in

New discs and pads need bedding in before hard use. Make a series of moderate stops from around 60 mph down to 10 mph without coming to a complete stop, then drive gently to let them cool. Avoid sitting with the brakes held on while they're hot.

Will they fit my car?

Each listing shows the models and years it fits. If you're not sure, use Confirm fitment on the product page and we'll check before you order. Stock is held and dispatched from Norfolk, UK.
